Brown Pelican: The brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) is a large seabird with a massive bill and a distinctive pouch for catching fish. Its body is grayish-brown, and during breeding season, the head and neck feathers turn yellow or white. These birds are found along coastal areas, where they plunge into the water from great heights to scoop up fish. They often nest in colonies on islands or coastal cliffs.
