Ospreys: Ospreys are large raptors that are easily recognizable by their distinct brown and white plumage and their hunting behavior. These birds of prey are found near bodies of water, such as coastal areas, rivers, and lakes, where they dive feet-first to catch fish in their sharp talons. Ospreys build massive nests, often at the tops of dead trees, utility poles, or manmade platforms, and return to the same nesting sites year after year. Their high-pitched whistling calls are a common sound in areas where they breed and hunt.
