On the night of November 14, 2022, residents and visitors in the village of Onset, Massachusetts were treated to a truly awe-inspiring celestial sight. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the largest and brightest supermoon in nearly 40 years began to rise over Onset Bay. The fully illuminated lunar disk appeared enormous close to the horizon, an optical illusion caused by the moon being at its closest point to Earth. The supermoon’s amber hue glowed brilliantly, casting an ethereal light that reflected off the calm waters of the bay. Crowds gathered along Shell Point Bay Beach and the Onset Pier, marveling at the tremendous supermoon as it slowly climbed higher into the evening sky.
