Juvenile Herring Gull: The juvenile herring gull (Larus argentatus) looks quite different from its adult counterpart. It has a mottled brown body, dark wings, and a black bill. As it matures over several years, its plumage gradually transitions to the familiar white body and gray wings of the adult. These gulls are found along coasts, beaches, and even inland areas, where they scavenge for a variety of foods, including fish, insects, and human scraps.

Kenny’s, a decades-old destination for home-made salt water taffy and popular beachside restaurant, was a favorite of seagulls who flocked to the nearby Onset Beach parking log during the summer season
